Hey Reader!

It's been a tough week for me.

I talked about it a little bit on LinkedIn earlier, but to be clear, when I say "tough", I don't mean "bad". Just that I've spent a lot of energy on a lot of different things.

And it's nice to feel accomplished, but I also feel pretty wired.

My practice is exists to help folks create Authentic Confidence in their lives, and it's built around Emotional Fitness.

A big part of emotional fitness is being able to listen to your body and its signals, and the emotional states that you are feeling in any given moment. And having a long week, even if you'd call it a good week, is a great opportunity for that.

Think about an athlete, training for the World Cup or the Olympics. They work hard - and they rest hard. There's a looooong routine they go through so their bodies can recover and repair as effectively as they can.

You mind and heart are the same; but because we don't "see" them the same way, and how we feel them is different, we're much quicker to ignore them.

And I've bee feeling wired because I've been "go, go, go" - getting lots of work done, with lots of focus, and only just enough rest to get by. (So, not quite enough).

If you're following this, you're probably the busy type, trying to make your goals come true actively. I know I could use a rest, and I'm sure you could too.

So, let's rest and recover well, together, right now.

Here's a practice you can do now. I'd recommend you stop scrolling, take a deep breath, and slow down before doing this. Get very, very present now:

Take a full breath in, all the way in. Even more in than you probably thought you could hold.
Then breathe it out, through the mouth, audibly. Sigh it out.
Do this 3 times, allowing your eyes to get heavier as you do.
Continue to breathe fully and deeply, as you clear your mind, and allow the rest of this practice to reach you. Enjoy sitting here for a moment with a clear head before continuing on.
And then when you're ready, allow the answer to this question arise naturally: How is the most peaceful and joyous version of yourself showing up right now?
Peace is of the mind. Joy is of the heart.
And energy cannot flow when there is tightness, so peace and joy allow you to relax and for energy to open up and flow all through you.
A healing energy. A kind of calmness, mixed with energetic-ness. Not wild or loud energy, but alive, yet at peace.
What is the most peaceful and joyous you doing for the rest of this day?
How are they doing it?
How do they hold themselves - their posture, their breathing, and how they treat other people and are received by them?
Allow the eyes to close down now, and enjoy this for the next few minutes before continuing on.

Now, imagine that the hundreds of people who will open this email today are doing that all at once.

Imagine a room of hundreds all breathing and letting go, just like this, together, right now.

That's what you're a part of, Reader.

Do it a few times. Pause this email, your scrolling, or whatever you're doing. Take some time for you. Re-read the above until you've got it.

You deserve to breathe.

💖

And by the way, if you want some more of that this month, next week I've got a workshop at Barclays, and I actually have a day retreat coming up on the 18th too if more wellness and personal growth is up your alley.

Have a beautiful weekend and lots of much deserved rest Reader,

- Seven
